Juicing Carrots

Juicing Carrots

It's great to juice carrots because it has been shown that the nutrients in them are more bio-available when juiced, as opposed to eating them. Carrots are full of vitamin A and have the highest source of vitamin A. The vitamin A is found in the pigment beta-carotene, which gives the carrots their strong orange colour. The body will convert beta-carotene into vitamin A. It has been said that carrots are known to be the 'anti-cancer kings' of the vegetable world, this is because the beta-carotene can disintegrate the mucous membrane around cancer cells. This pigment is also very beneficial for the heart, as it protects the cardiovascular system, as it helps to reduce ruptures and injury in the blood vessels that coud lead to blood clots.

Carrots are well known for being beneficial for eyesight, this again is down to the beta-carotene as it concentrates on the retina in the eyes.

By adding carrot into your juices you're getting the nutrients that can positively affect your immune system and the overall function of it. This is done by increasing the production and the performance of the white blood cells in the body. For those suffering with high cholesterol, carrots have also been known to reduce cholesterol levels.
